The Summer holidays are upon us. It is often when we stop or have a break from normal routine that the body lets us know how tired and run down it is. The holidays themselves can be stressful and busy, so try the following blend to calm and soothe frayed nerves and lift low spirits.

2 drops of Juniper
4 drops of Lavender
3 drops of Grapefruit
1 drop of Rose

Blend these in a small egg cup of Almond Oil and massage in to your feet and the back of your neck. Add to the bath, or vapourize the blend in an oil burner while you relax.

This month the following new research caught my eye....

Broccoli's Phytochemicals Naturally Stop Cancer Cells. As Do Brussels Sprouts, Kale, Cabbage.....

Researchers at Ohio State University have discovered how a substance that is produced when eating broccoli can stop cancer cells from spreading. What is it in broccoli that can do this? A substance called indole-3-carbinol, I3C for short.

This substance is produced naturally in the digestion process by the breakdown of the glucosinolate glucobrassicin. I3C is also found in other cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, brussels sprouts, and kale. The researchers managed to discover a connection between this I3C and a molecule which is essential for cell division and proliferation (Cdc25A). The research showed that I3C causes the destruction of that molecule and thereby blocks the growth of breast cancer cells.

So carry on eating your greens!
