Now here is some interesting information,a German study has shown that women are twice as likely to suffer from depression than men. Depression rates are three times higher than in 1970. Researchers claim that depression is our number one health challenge in the 21st centuary.Another major study published in the " American Journal of Clinical Nutrition," found that vitamin D may lower depression in women by as much as 21% where vitamin D was taken daily. Vitamin D is mainly produced through exposure to sunlight, so during the winter months a supplement may be a good idea if you have been feeling sluggish and low.
