Meditation and Mindfulness Classes

Helen works together with Lisa McAuliffe, an experienced Yoga and Pilates teacher to run weekly Meditation and Mindfulness classes at the Vera Fletcher Hall and the Guide Hut in Thames Ditton.

For centuries meditation has been used to develop awareness and calm in a busy and stressful world. Studies consistently show that regular meditation benefits our physical and mental well being.
Guided meditation classes will explore relaxation, mindfulness, focus and balance, giving you the time and space to unwind stress and tension and feel grounded, peaceful and energised. Classes are not associated with any religion. The sessions are suitable for beginners and those who have done some meditation before.

WORKSHOPS

New: Aromatherapy 2.

This is a work shop for those who have done ‘An Introduction to Aromatherapy’ with Helen. This follow-on course will be looking at an additional set of Essential Oils, extending the Aromatherapy massage routine, learning how to blend oils based on the Chinese philosophy of the 5 elements and making a roller ball and massage oil to use at home.

Mindfulness Workshop

Mindfulness is a simple powerful way of training our attention, it is about becoming aware & present in the here & now. Mindfulness can be used to combat stress, improve sleep, inducing deep relaxation & calm. This workshop will introduce you to various techniques including breath work, meditation & postural development showing you how to incorporate these practices into daily life.

Lunchtime Tune Up

Take a break for 40 mins to relax, refresh & de-stress. These lunchtime meditations are suitable for everyone. They will consist of a short introduction to the meditation followed by a guided meditation to set you up nicely for the rest of your day with a positive & inspired mind.

Indian Head Massage

Although I am not yet taking bookings, I will be running A Beginners Guide to Indian Head Massage on 23/11 from 1-5.30 pm and 30/11 from 1- 3pm.

Indian Head Massage is an essential component of the Indian Ayurvedic healing system, this is a beginners’ course that will teach you how to carry out a basic Indian Head Massage treatment. You will learn simple massage and pressure point techniques to relax and balance the body and mind, concentrating on the shoulders, neck, head and face. We will look at the theory and philosophy of Indian Head Massage and how you can use this knowledge at home. The Course will run over 2 consecutive Saturday afternoons.
