Meditation and Mindfulness Classes

Helen works together with Lisa McAuliffe, an experienced Yoga and Pilates teacher to run weekly Meditation and Mindfulness classes at the Vera Fletcher Hall and the Guide Hut in Thames Ditton.

For centuries meditation has been used to develop awareness and calm in a busy and stressful world. Studies consistently show that regular meditation benefits our physical and mental well being.
Guided meditation classes will explore relaxation, mindfulness, focus and balance, giving you the time and space to unwind stress and tension and feel grounded, peaceful and energised. Classes are not associated with any religion. The sessions are suitable for beginners and those who have done some meditation before.

WORKSHOPS

Online Mindfulness Workshop / 3 Weeks

Mindfulness is a simple and powerful way of training our attention, it is about becoming aware and present in the here and now. Mindfulness can be used to combat stress, improve our health and the quality of our lives as well as inducing deep relaxation and calm. This 3 week online course will introduce you to various techniques including breath work, meditation and postural development, showing you how to incorporate these practices in to your daily life. The course consists of a combination of teaching, mindfulness exercises and guided meditations.

Reflexology Course

Reflexology is one of the oldest known methods of natural healing. This is a beginner’s course that will teach you how to carry out a basic Reflexology treatment. You will learn gentle and effective techniques to relax the body and assist it to heal and balance itself. We will look at the history, theory and philosophy of Reflexology. The Course will run over two consecutive Saturday afternoons.

Menopause Workshop

Suitable for peri-menopausal & menopausal women, this workshop will provide you with tools to help you at this “interesting” time! It will look at eating & exercising right, decluttering your mind, the importance of relaxation & how to find it & how essential oils, alternative therapies & massage pressure points can help. Please note we are not doctors & will not be covering info on HRT or other medications

Indian Head Massage Introductory Course

Indian Head Massage is an essential component of the Indian Ayurvedic healing system, this is a beginners’ course that will teach you how to carry out a basic Indian Head Massage treatment. You will learn simple massage and pressure point techniques to relax and balance the body and mind, concentrating on the shoulders, neck, head and face. We will look at the theory and philosophy of Indian Head Massage and how you can use this knowledge at home. The Course will run over 2 consecutive Saturday afternoons.
